The Real McCoy’s Coat M-65 Field Jacket
Arguably the finest Americana reproduction brand from Japan, the Real McCoy’s painstakingly recreate and update original garments for the modern day offering the best from the past, replicated to perfection without compromise in Japan.
The M65 is arguably recognised as the definitive US Army Field Jacket. Introduced to the US Army in 1965 replacing the M-51 Field Jacket, with its durable and windproof material and detachable inner lining, the M65 was made to withstand the often extreme climates.
The MJ22107 from The Real McCoy’s is diligently reproduced in Japan, recreated to original mil-spec standard, if not improving on fabric and fit. This version of the M-65 from McCoy’s uses bespoke materials throughout to faithfully reproduce this model. The sewing techniques used throughout are the same as mil-spec as are the aluminium zips and correct colour issue. The outer shell is much improved on the cotton blend found in original examples, with this version cut from 100% cotton.Â
This style features buttoned epaulettes on the shoulders while four, deep front pockets have a heavy-duty press stud closure. The same can be found along the front placket, above the concealed sewn in zipper and custom McCoy hardware. Internal urea buttons are added in case of the need for an additional liner, while a stow-away concealed hood features velcro closure that also features on the cuff, that can be extended in colder weather. Complete with action back to aid mobility.Â
