The Real McCoy’s N-3 Utility Jacket (Model 220) Olive
Arguably the finest Americana reproduction brand from Japan, the Real McCoy’s painstakingly recreate and update original garments for the modern day offering the best from the past, replicated to perfection without compromise in Japan.Â
Here we have The Real McCoy’s N-3 Utility Jacket (Model 220), a classic piece of Japanese ‘American Casual’ reproduction clothing. First introduced in the 1940’s as part of 4-piece uniform issued to U.S Navy shore parties and usually cut from a herringbone twill cotton fabric in olive drab colour #7. The ‘N’ was part of clothing identification and contract issue (often seen as NXS) developed by the US Navy.Â
Cut in Japan from 100% cotton, the N-3 Utility Jacket comes in the classic colour-way and a herringbone twill. As a war-time model the button front was changed from five to four and features laurel wreath donut buttons. Two hip pockets have been paired with a single chest pocket while laurel wreath button cuff adjusters aid fit. A stamped USN Real McCoy’s Overall Co and contract no completes the look.Â
