Mister Freedom Longshoreman Shirt Indigo Herringbone Twill
Forming a key part of their new capsule collection, “Waterfront Surplus”, the Longshoreman Shirt is a key piece in the collection and is a nod to their original 2006 “MSFC Naval Clothing Tailor” edition. This SS20 nautical theme is largely inspired by 1930’s US Navy and French Marine Nationale utility uniform.
The Longshoreman shirt borrows inspiration from a rare original 1940’s vintage naval denim work shirt produced under the label ‘Gus Kroesen’. Established in 1907, and with several branches, the Gus Kroesen stores have supplied generations of men at sea with outstanding custom uniforms.Â
The Mister Freedom Longshoreman shirt is cut in Japan from a 7.7 oz dark indigo-dyed herringbone twill (HBT) fabric in a blend of linen and cotton. The Longshoreman shirt features most of the design specifics from the originals – the shirt features the pop over style, half zip front closure placket and three utilitarian patch pockets and is complete with a traditional boxy, square cut.Â
